Fondue fantasy

Cheese fondue

Where do you go on a cool summer evening when you have hiked your sox off and are starving? That s the question we were asking ourselves when we came upon a rather unusual sight… one of the Diavolezza Glacier cable cars, sitting on a lawn, down in the valley – definitely a long way from home! And, guess what, the roomy cable car had been turned into a cheese fondue den – just what we needed, so we clambered in!

I love the attention to detail such as the moose shaped napkin rings and miniature skis on the menus! It was snug and cosy inside, all original wood cladding, some additional lighting obviously and the leather-strapped handles hanging from the ceiling which the waitress dodged expertly…

Of course the fondue itself was mouth-watering, not that you hanker after much cheese once you stagger out of course!
