The mountains are one of the most relaxing and inspiring places to practice mindfulness – the profound silence, the sheer grandeur and the mirror-like lakes all conspire to make you take a step back and contemplate life from a new perspective.

It was during a recent walk that I was struck by the sound of the creaking snow as it melted. It was a cool grey day, and yet there was an intensity in the landscape that took my breath away. I felt as though I was standing on the set for either Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings and all around was a buzz with small sounds that indicated that Spring was slowly on its way.

No need for expensive meditation sessions or yoga studios, a simple walk sucking up the landscape here is enough to make you naturally mindful – in fact I would go so far to say that this is where is all began. Taking a step back from life’s hectic requirements and standing still enjoying a slice of this Swiss paradise is guaranteed to take a weight off your shoulders! Come and try it!
